1.Marathon: START/FINISH at the Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center
Mid Olympic Sports Road (START)→ East Olympic Sports Street → West Nanbinhe Road → Mid Nanbinhe Road → East Nanbinhe Road → Jinyan Bridge → East Beibinhe Road → Mid Beibinhe → West Beibinhe → near Shen’an Yellow River Bridge (U Turn) → West Beibinhe → Relief Road of Yin’an Road (north direction) → Yintan Yellow River Bridge→ Relief Road of Yin’an Road (south direction) → West Nanbinhe Road → East Street of Olympic Sports Center → Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center(FINISH);
2.Half Marathon: It starts from Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center (on Mid Olympic Sports Road), and ends on East Nanbinhe Road (near of Yanbai Bridge Station of Metro Line 2).
Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center (START) → East Olympic Sports Street→ West Nanbinhe Road → Mid Nanbinhe Road → East Nanbinhe Road → Reader’s Road (U turn)→ Park of Pinsha Luoyan → East Nanbinhe (FINISH);
3.Health Run & Family Run: It starts from Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center, and ends at the Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center
Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center (START) → East Street of Olympic Sports Center → West Nanbinhe Road → Eastern crossing of Wanda Plaza (U Turn) → West Nanbinhe Road → the crossing of Ciai Street → Northern of West Street of Olympic Sports Center (FINISH)
IX. Registration Methods
1. Registration Fees (CNY):
1) Marathon: 200CNY/person;
2) Half Marathon: 160CNY/person;
3) Health Run, Family Run: 60CNY/person
2. Race limits are: Marathon: 20,000, Half Marathon: 6,000; Health Run: 8,000; Family Run: 6,000. Once the registration amount has reached the limit, drawing lots and makeup for candidates will be used for confirmation;
3. The drawn winners of the marathon and half marathon must submit the Physical Examination Reports issued by hospitals (above grade 2) on or after March 17, 2024 (inclusive), or Pre-examination Form of Road Running Athletes. Examination items shall mainly include blood pressure, routine electrocardiogram or 24-hour Holter electrocardiogram or exercise tablet test (any of the three can be available). In case of high blood pressure or obvious abnormal electrocardiogram (such as significant bradycardia, etc.), heart color ultrasound tests are needed additionally. Electrocardiogram and heart color ultrasound tests cannot be replaced by each other. Either the Physical Examination Reports issued by hospitals (above grade 2) or the Pre-examination Form of Road Running Athletes may be submitted (choose one of the two).
4. Registration Process for Marathon and Half Marathon:
1) Pre-registration: Mar.6-15, 2025;
2) Announcement date of drawn winners, permanent-number runners as well as candidates: Mar.17, 2025;
3) Submit date of Pre-race Physical Examination Reports for drawn winners, permanent-number runners: Mar.17-23, 2025;
4) Payment time for those whose reports has been approved: Mar.24-26, 2025.
5) The Organizing Committee will notify alternate candidates via SMS in batches starting from March 27, based on the progress of Phase II, to submit their Physical Examination Reports and complete payments until the quota is full.
5. Procedure of Registration of Health Run and Family Run:
1) Pre-registration: Mar.6-15, 2025;
2) Announcement date of drawn winners, as well as candidates: Mar.17, 2025;
3) Payment time:Mar.17-21, 2025;
4) Starting from March 22, successful alternate athletes will be notified via SMS in batches until all slots are filled.
6. Please confirm your event based on your personal circumstances before registration. Ensure that all information entered in the registration form is thoroughly checked before submission. Once registration is successfully completed, changes to the event category or modifications to the submitted information will not be permitted.
7. Payment days for all the above runners: within designated days after registration. Failure of payment would be considered as giving up; and the canceled qualification will be re-allocated to candidates by random until the full amount is reached;
8. Retired athletes who wish to return to this competition must apply for re-entry in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Chinese Athletics Association. If they participate in the competition in violation of the rules, the Organizing Committee will disqualify their results and other benefits related.

X. Participation Method
1. Age limit
1) Marathon: over 20 (born before Dec.31, 2005);
2) Half Marathon: over 16 (born before Dec.31, 2009);
3) Health Run: over 13 (born before Dec.31, 2012);
4) Family Run: below 13 (only and must). Each family are permitted to register 5 people at the most, and must have at least one guardian and one kid under 13 (born after Jan.1, 2013) register in the race;
(5) Participants under 18 (born after Jan.1, 2008) could only enroll base on the condition that their guardians or legal representatives have signed on Participation Declaration.
(6) Participants over 65 (born before Dec.31, 1960) must have their immediate relatives signed together for registration. In addition, participants should make decides of participation according to their own physical conditions. Every participant of Health Run and Family Run is suggested to carry out a physical examination (Test results of electrocardiogram, blood pressure, heart rate and cardiopulmonary function must be normal).
2. Health Requirement
The Marathon is a competition of high intensity and long distances. It is also a high-risk race. Therefore, good physical conditions are required. Participants must be in good health and experience running and training regularly before making a decision. They should choose competition categories according to their own health conditions and ability, and confirm the related terms in the Declaration of Participation.
Those who have diseases/ conditions below should not participate:
1) congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease;
2) hypertension and cerebrovascular disease;
3) myocarditis and other heart disease;
4) coronary artery disease and severe arrhythmia;
5) diabetes with over high or over low blood sugar;
6) Pregnancy;
7) got flu within 2 weeks before the race;
8) drink alcohol one night before or sleeplessness;
9) not recovered from infectious diseases;
10) Those who have one or more of the following symptoms: fever, dry cough, fatigue, reduced sense of smell or taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, muscle pain and diarrhea, are not suitable for vigorous exercise.
11) other diseases unfit for sports;
3. All runners are required to sign on Participation of Declaration.
XI. Competition Method
1.The race is conducted in accordance with CAA’s latest Rules and Regulations of Track & Field, Compilation of Road Running Management Documents(newest version), and the Label Road Race Regulations by the WA (World Athletics), plus the most updated regulations of 2025 Lanzhou Marathon;
2.According to the Notice on Disabled Athletes Participating in National Marathon and Related Sports Events approved by the CAA, disabled athletes who meet the competition requirements are allowed to participate;
3. Check in
1) All runners are required to reach designated check-in areas before 7:00am. No entry to the course since 15mins after gun shots.Check-in carpets are placed by the LOC before each area, and runners must obey this rule to gather in the own areas. After gun time, runners must firstly pass check-in carpets at the START, followed with then each timing carpet to ensure valid results;
2) Participants in back check-in zones are forbidden to check in from the front zones, while those in front zones are able to do this on the contrary. Those who disobey this rule would receive results/ranks cancellation, and suffer participation suspension for one year additionally.
4. Bib numbers are stipulated and distributed by the Organizer. All participants are requested to wear the big number bibs on front chests. Those who disobey this rule, or fold or cover bibs would get invalid results, including but not limited to covering bibs with clothing, purses and other items). If runners alter, produce, transfer or sell bibs personally, they will be punished according to the competition method of this competition;
5. One-gun starts for all races;
6. Starting Order
Elite runners start first, followed by professional marathoners, then amateur runners (queue in each area against runners’ PB), Half Marathoners (queue in each area against runners’ PB), Health Run and Family Run runners. The area is subject to the PB time published on info platform”China Marathon” and obtained by runners who participated in the marathon/half marathon category of races which were “A Type races” held from Jan.1, 2023 to the Mar.5, 2025. Result certificates are required to upload when runners make online registration.There is no specific category for wheelchair participants. Amateur wheelchair participants should start at the end, following judge’s instructions.
7. Timing Method
1) The LOC provides inductive timing chips for Marathon and Half Marathon participants. Chips start timing (net time) once runners run past the starting line. No timing service for Health Run and Family Run. Gun time results are counted in marathon, and net time results are counted in half marathon;
2) Runners must run past every timing point, including the starting point, every 5km points, 21.0975km, the “U” turn points, and the finishing point along the route. Within cut-off time, if any result of finishers at any timing point is missing, the finisher would neither be issued Participation Certificates, nor be ranked;
3) Timing chips start their function once runners pass the starting line. Runners must wear official chips provided by the LOC so as to obtain valid results. The LOC is not responsible for invalid results due to incorrect wearing methods .
4) Timing chips will be distributed together with number bibs and other race items. Disposable chips will be used freely. No recycling after the race.
8. Cut-off Distance &Time
To ensure safety and smooth, cut-off times are set at each km point along the course road during the race, blocking the traffic within limited time. Afterwards, the traffic blocks would be released at corresponding sections. Runners should stop and quit from the course, and wait for aid vehicles to reach the finish line. Those who violate this rule should be responsible for legal liabilities and compensation.Health Run and Family Run: 1 hour after the gun time.
9. Deposit of Personal belongings
1) Deposit places for Marathon and half marathon runners are set in designated area near the start line. Runners please fetch your bags at designated areas after the race near the finish line. No check service is provided by the working staff at the depositing areas and no complain affairs or any compensation would be accepted or conducted once your belongings are lost. Therefore it is suggested no valuable items should be left in your bags such as cellphones, credentials, cash, etc.
2) On the race day, depositing service will be closed before 7:15am. Half Marathon depositing buses will settle off from the START, please make your plans in advance. Half Participants should get back personal belongings at designated places before 11:30am (for Half Marathon), or 15:00 (for Marathon). For delay circumstances, please come to the Organizer office within the next 5 days. Runners should be responsible for fast delivery fees in case delivery service is required by them. However, the LOC (Local Organizing Committee) will dispose those items if there is no one coming for reclaiming.
3) No deposit service for Health Run and Family Run.
10. Beverage /Sponge /Refreshment Stations
1) From the START, at each 5km, there is a refreshment station, and between 2 of which there is one beverage/sponge station;
2) Refreshment stations are set along the course at 12.5km, 17.5km, 22.5km, 27.5km, 32.5km, 35km, 37.5km.
11. The placing order and requirements of drinking water, beverage and refreshment stations shall be set according to the Guide for Road Running Events of Chinese Athletics Association, and please refer to the Official Program for details.
12. Anti doping tests will be carried out on participants, in accordance with the CAA and WA Regulations..
13. Finishers within cut-off time and without rule violation behaviors are able to log in official website for result query, and certificates can be downloaded and printed out afterwards.

XII. Rank and Award
1.Prize Structure
1) Marathon
① Rank Prize (subject to gun time results)
Top 8 winners of men and women will be awarded prize money (Currency Unit: USD). Winners of Chinese Nationalities will be awarded the same amount of rank prize equivalent in CNY currency at the exchange rate of the race date.
Note: Top 3 winners of both men and women will each receive one trophy, one medal as well as one sports suit.
② Special Award for the Marathon Winners of Chinese Nationality (Currency Unit: CNY)
Top 8 winners of men and women both of Chinese Nationality are listed, subject to gun time results:
Note: In case a Chinese winner wins both of “Rank Prize” and “ Special Award for the Marathon Winners of Chinese Nationality”, he/she will be awarded only the prize item of higher amount, and there’s no repeated distribution of prize money.
③ Award of Record Breaking:
ü Breaking World Marathon Records (Men 2:00:35; women 2:09:56) : 100,000USD (Only for the top 1 winner);
ü Breaking Chinese National Marathon Records (Men 2:06:57; women 2:19:39): 50,000USD (Only for the top 1winner of Chinese nationality);
ü Breaking Lanzhou Marathon Record (Men2:08:57, Women 2:24:46): 10,000USD (Only for the top 1 winner);
2) Half Marathon
① Rank Prize (subject to net time results)
Top 20 of men and women are be awarded (Currency Unit: CNY).
Note: Top 3 winners of both men and women will each receive one trophy, one medal as well as one sports suit.
2. The equipment (clothing and shoes) of all winners must meet the advertising and technical regulations on the competition of shoes issued by the World Athletics Federation;
3. All marathon and half marathon finishers within cut-off time would be able to obtain finishing items and medals. In addition, Result Certificates are available to download and print out via the official website;
4. Runners of health run and Family Run would be awarded Participation Certificates.
5. Claiming Method of Prize Fees
1)Within 24 hours after the race finishes, winning list will be publicized on the official website for 7 days. During the publicity period, if you have any objection to the results of any winners, please contact the LOC providing true and effective evidence. For those who are reported to have violated relevant provisions of race rules and regulations, the ranking will be deprived if facts are confirmed after investigation and evidence collection, and the cancelled ranking will not be replaced any more;
2)Winners will be contacted with 30 days after the race (especially, Chinese winners would get prize money in CNY currency.) Winners receiving doping tests should wait until the official result publicity and test results have been revealed. In case any doping problem
appears, ranks would be invalid, and the cancelled ranking will not be replaced any more;
3) According to Chinese tax laws, 20% of prize fees would be charged as an individual income tax, the LOC will do this on behalf. In addition, in comply with label road race rules by the World Athletics, who stipulates 2% of the prize money before any penalty and tax will be charged by the World Athletics as athletes’ contribution. The LOC will conduct this on athletes’ behalf.
6. Participants of all categories will each receive a race T-shirt, race bag and bibs.
7. The LOC has the final explanation right regarding the awarding method.
XIII. Medical Care
1) The LOC establishes medical spot at each 2.5 kilometers, with one obvious signage board 100 meters ahead of each spot;
2) AED assistants and medical volunteers are ready along the course. Ambulances are ready to follow up after runners;
3) Medical volunteers are allocated along the course, with 100 meters apart between each two. They assist medical staff and maintain race orders, and runners are welcome to seek help from them;
4) During the race, medical supervisors are eligible to require runners to stop and hand in their bibs, base on bad body conditions. Those runners who violate this would have to bear all results and responsibilities by themselves. Those runners who loss consciousness would be considered to receive life saving measures by the LOC, including but not limited to CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and rapid transit with vehicles or air crafts, etc.
XIV. Insurance
1) During the race period, the LOC purchases personal accident insurance for all participants and staff (specific risks, the amount is subject to the final policy). In case the participant registration information is not complete, inaccurate or untrue, and it causes failure in purchasement or claims, the resulting legal liability (including but not limited to unable to conduct insurance claims, etc.) shall be borne by the participant themselves;
2) During the race or race period, judges, medical staff and volunteers have the right to judge any runner to terminate their running who are not physically fit to continue the race. Any consequences caused by forced continuation shall be borne by the athletes themselves instead of the LOC;
3) During the race, base on personal conditions (including but not limited to self-owned chronic diseases, potential diseases, inadequate physical endurance, etc.), if any physical discomfort and related diseases and symptoms occurs (including but not limited to heat stroke, fainting, etc.) is recognized by insurance company out of compensation scope, the runners have to bear all legal responsibilities and results, the LOC however would not cover this loss. Please register after careful assessments of your physical conditions;
4) The LOC provides free, on-site first aid medical treatments during the race. The injured may apply to the insurance company for claims or negotiate with the the company after settlements with hospitals. The LOC may provides necessary information for contact assistance;
5) In the event of personal injury or death caused by doping or other prohibited drugs during the race, all legal liabilities and consequences occurred therefore (including but not limited to medical treatments, work injury, disability compensation, death compensation, etc.) shall be borne by runners themselves.
XV. Penalty
1. In order to strengthen the management of competition ethos and discipline, the LOC strictly prohibits transferring (or accepting transferring), selling (or buying) the race spaces. It is prohibited for all those who run, rub, forge number bibs or use non-race number bibs to enter the course road. Once discovered, violators will be banned for lifetime suspension of participating in the events organized by the Lanzhou Marathon Organizing Committee, and the behaviors will be submitted to the CAA for additional punishments. The LOC will also reserve the right to investigate the legal liability of the violators for any financial loss or serious impact;
2. Video surveillance will be carried out by the LOC at the START, the FINISH, and along the course. During the period of race and activities, runners conducting the following behaviors would receive organizer’s penalties, such as cancellation of results and qualification, suspension of participation in the next 1 or 2 years, even for lifetime, considering the seriousness of the circumstances. Moreover, this penalty would be reported to the CAA for additional penalties.
1) one runner carry the other runner’s chip, or one runner wears two or more timing chips while running (Including male runners wear female runners’ chips);
2) disobey the right starting sequence to start in non-registered areas;
3) start the race at wrong time or from wrong starting areas;
4) accomplish the race by relaying method;
5) continue the race instead of stopping and quitting after cut-off time, or return to the course after quit;
6) leaving away from the course, taking shortcuts, or jumping into the race by taking any transport vehicle;
7) pass the finish line repeatedly or get medals and souvenirs without completing the race;
8) Stay still near the starting line or finish line, or on course road (including but not limited to dancing, performing, taking pictures or conducting other behaviors that affects other runners);
9) pass the finish line by wearing others’ bibs;
10) pass the finish line to get medals, by wearing fake number bibs, wearing bibs of other races, or wearing Lanzhou Marathon bibs of previous editions;
11) manipulate or block the bibs;
12) use false information such as false age, or pretend to be other runners to obtain entry qualification;
13) conduct uncivilized behaviors (such as defecating indiscriminately, littering, etc.);
14) refuse to follow instructions of working staff, or break the racing order with riotous behaviors or fight each other influencing the race;
15) disobey the epidemic prevention requirements stipulated by the LOC;
16) conduct other behaviors that violate rules and regulations. Except these offenders, others runners who do not comply with related rules of the CAA or the WA will be disqualified by the Chief Referees.
XVI. Delegates and Referees
Please note that the technical delegates and technical officials are dispatched by the CAA. Chief referees are dispatched by provincial Athletics Association or provincial Road Race Supervision Units. Other judges are handled by the competition department of the LOC.
